Welcome to Pendeen School

Our school is in the village of Pendeen, located approximately seven miles west of Penzance and East of Lands End. We are minutes from the beautiful Penwith coastline and very close to Geevor and Botallack mines. You can see the sea, and if you are very tall, occasionally the Isles of Scilly from our playground and field!

We are proud of our Cornish heritage and celebrate and use our local area as often as we can.
Our children are taught in Kynsa (first), Nessa (second), Teyr (third) and Peswara (fourth) classes. On most days, we teacher Reading, Writing (including Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation) and Maths in the morning, for around an hour each, depending on the age of the children. All other curriculum areas are covered in the afternoons. All children follow either the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework  (Kynsa Class) or the National Curriculum in all other classes.
Occasionally we will drop the approach above and all study, for example, Modern Languages, RE, Maths, Poetry, Online Safety, Science and Black History.  Similarly, on occasion, we drop the regular timetable celebrate our local cultural capital by all visiting the beach, local industrial heritage and local museums and places of worship. Through frequent visits and visitors and regular assemblies we build our children's Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education.
We want the children to learn, be safe and enjoy their time in primary school and a visit will confirm that children love their time at Pendeen School.
